The methodology is the characteristic of the UNED (Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia in Spain), so you can monitor the curriculum regardless of place of residence.
Additionally, students may have a direct personal assistance and regular teachers through various technology resources: virtual platform from which to develop virtual classes, video conferencing, telephone tutorials and virtual seminars through the network.
The methodology developed allows the students know from day theoretical and practical principles of e-learning and digital technologies of information and communication.
This program uses the most advanced technology for virtual learning in a reflective context, technical, cooperative, social, and critical.
The communication mode:
This learning system seeks to address a bidirectional communication mode in nature, not limited to sending packets.
Students feed back into the communication and learning in a dynamic way.
The knowledge is organized through active communities in cyberspace that are interrelated.
The mode of learning:
The students construct knowledge from their prior learning cooperatively and individually.
The methodology and materials are designed for the development of a learning mode supported by reflection, practice and expertise basándoseen social context analysis and the formation of learning networks.
It caters to the individual characteristics of each pupil and student models are not used for learning information packages that are most widespread in virtual learning.
The pedagogical objective of this program is not transmissive in nature, which would play outdated models.
Our goal is to provide the tools to transform information into knowledge from the teaching-learning process in a virtual dialogic relationship between teachers, students and technicians.
The raw material we work with is information through multimedia elements such as images, sounds, text, etc. but the ultimate goal is the construction of new learning and new knowledge generated in the virtual community.
The horizontal communication and the digital divide:
Modular Program in Digital Technologies and the Information Society with the participation of prominent associations in the field of technology. The collaboration of these associations with this program at UNED seek to develop horizontal communication and overcoming the digital divide. Some of the associations involved in this project are:
- Node 50 (www.nodo50.org)
- Rebellion (www.rebelion.org)
- Aideka (www.aideka.tv)
- Air Policy (www.airecomun.com)
New technology and disability:
This program from its inception has paid particular attention to the disabled. To overcome many of the barriers and obstacles they face every day, more than ever, digital technologies can reduce or increase the differences to the disabled. We found that in addition to physical obstacles, this group must also cope with the technological barriers that they face ICTs. The information society as we know it today, it excludes different social groups.
And this program works to reduce some barriers and obstacles that hinder the full development of a person.
From this, UNED Modular work for a world where all men and women have equal opportunities and technological, educational and social.
